Email metrics are not just numbers; they are the storytellers of your email marketing campaign. Open rates, click rates, and click-through rates together paint a vivid picture of how your emails are received, perceived, and acted upon by your audience. They inform us about the relevance and appeal of our content, tell us whether our calls to action are compelling enough, and highlight the overall health of our email list.
Performance Metric Definitions
HubSpot provides various performance metrics to help us analyze each email separately. To understand further what each metric means, please follow below.
Open rate:
The percentage of contacts who have opened your email out of the contacts who delivered your email. An email open is counted when the images in the email load completely, or when the contact clicks on a link in the email even if the images do not load.
Click Rate:
The percentage of contacts who clicked a link in your email out of the contacts who delivered your email.
Click-Through Rate:
The percentage of contacts who clicked a link in your email out of the number of contacts who opened your email.
Deliverability Results:
The numbers of successful deliveries, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam reports. To view these results, please use the “Recipients” tab inside the email performance.
